This years EJIF summer meeting takes place in Ireland from 28 July until 18 August 2004. There are 41 Jesuits from 25 provinces including two scholastics from the USA and one scholastic from Vietnam. The topic of the meeting is Faces of Priesthood Today and Fr James Hanvey SJ (BRI) from Heythrop College, London, is a facilitator of the first part of the meeting EJIF Forum.
After a short stay in the Purcell House in Dublin and a beautiful trip to Glendalough, the Forum has already begun at the Clongowes Wood College. The college is famous by a student who later became a famous writer James Joyce. Recently, it is a huge complex of buildings still operated by Irish Jesuits.
As usually, the second part of the EJIF meeting will be the Ignatian retreat. It will take place from 4 to 12 August in Manresa House, Dublin. There will be five Fathers from different Jesuit provinces as retreat directors: Fr Paul Chetcuti SJ, the Provincial of Malta, Fr Miroslav Cadek SJ (Croatia), Fr Pascual Cebollada SJ (Spain), Fr James Hanvey SJ (Britain) and Fr Laurence Murphy SJ (Ireland).
At the end of the meeting, there will be so called Symposium at the Clongowes Wood College where delegates will elect three additional Co-Co members and will look out to World Youth Day 2005 in Cologne, Germany (where EJIF will actively take part).
Fr Orlando Torres SJ, Assistant to Fr General for Formation, and Fr Mark Rotsaert SJ, President of the Conference of European Provincials, are both present in the EJIF meeting.

This years EJIF summer meeting will take place in Ireland from 28 July until 18 August 2004. It has a well-established time schedule which will be kept also this year:
The meeting has three parts: First, the EJIF Forum about Faces of Priesthood. It will take five working days three days before the retreat, and two after. Fr James Hanvey SJ, from Heythrop College, London, will guide us through these days, and we are looking forward very much to his style of working (some of us already know him from our EJIF meeting in Hungary ...).
The retreat will last 8 days. It will be a classical Ignatian retreat, and we are very happy that Fr Paul Chetcuti SJ, the Provincial of Malta, will be our main retreat director. Four other Fathers with several languages will be there, so that everyone has a personal retreat guide, whom he can choose: Fr Miroslav Cadek SJ (Croatia), Fr Pascual Cebollada SJ (Spain), Fr James Hanvey SJ (Britain) and Fr Laurence Murphy SJ (Ireland).
During the Symposium we will elect three additional Co-Co members and will look out to World Youth Day 2005 in Cologne, Germany (where EJIF will actively take part).
Not to forget: we will have several special guests. We expect Fr Orlando Torres SJ, Assistant of Fr General for Formation, and Fr Mark Rotsaert SJ, President of the Conference of European Provincials, and his Socius, Fr Tommaso Guadagno SJ, to be with us!
Questionnaire: In order to prepare the Forum, the Co-Co together with Fr Hanvey SJ worked out a questionnaire. During the Forum a short synthesis of your answers will be given. A successful take off of the Forum will largely depend on the inputs! Important remark: answers will be confidential and will not be made public in any way. The presentation will not mention any name or province.
